Saving your natural tooth — whenever possible
Root canal treatment (endodontics) becomes necessary when the dental pulp is inflamed or has died due to decay, cracks or trauma. Without treatment, the infection threatens to spread to the bone — and ultimately leads to tooth loss.
How the treatment works
Diagnosis & assessment
X-ray and, if needed, DVT 3D X-Ray for an exact view of the root canal geometry and the extent of inflammation. We discuss the findings openly with you.
Anaesthesia & access
The affected area is locally anaesthetised and the inflamed or dead tissue is removed. Access to the pulp is created.
Rotary canal preparation
The root canals are cleaned with rotary instruments — precisely shaped and disinfected. The method is more efficient and gentler than purely manual techniques.
Root filling & completion
The cleaned canals are tightly filled and sealed. The tooth is then stably restored with a crown or filling — for long-term preservation.
DVT 3D X-ray for more precise endodontics
In complex cases — e.g. curved canals, suspected fracture or unclear findings — our Dentsply Sirona Orthophos 3D SL provides a three-dimensional view that conventional X-rays cannot deliver.
